Two-dimensional concentrators for inhomogeneous media

Abstract

A two-dimensional concentrator for collecting light over a specified range of angles and concentrating it at a specified exit surface without loss of etendue can be postulated; we develop a design procedure for such systems and derive the conditions under which the procedure is applicable.
