Abstract

The absorption spectrum of Ba II has been studied for 350 ≤ Λ ≤ 1100 Å by the flash pyrolysis technique. 423 transitions have been observed. Several long series have been identified, converging to the 5<i>p</i><sup>5</sup> 6<i>s</i> and 5<i>p</i><sup>5</sup> 5<i>d</i> limits of Ba III.
