Abstract

A method for determining the degrees of polarization p1 and pm of infrared polarizers and monochromators, and devices for increasing the accuracy of the method are presented. Polarization properties to 25 μ of polarizers and a monochromator, obtained with the method, are described and, as an example, to correct for the effects of p1 and pm, the method for deriving true reflectance from measured reflectance is treated.
