The vertical scale is the number of counts, approximately 1000 counts per channel between the two markers, and the horizontal represents time with full scale corresponding to 300 nsec. The steady-state excitation of the d3Πu state can be observed as the initial plateau because of the intrinsic time delay of the electronics.
