Multiple Scattering of Light in a Turbulent Atmosphere

Abstract

An integral formulation of multiple scattering of light in a turbulent atmosphere is considered. The well-known Fresnel-zone single scattering is the first-order term in a Born series. Secondary-scattering contributions to the power spectra of amplitude and phase variations of the scattered light wave are exhibited in terms of the transverse power spectrum of the index-of-refraction fluctuations.
