Light Time Fraction and Surround Luminance in Flicker

Abstract

A single-factor depression model, derived from data on the effects of extraneous stimulation on the CFF, is used to predict an interaction between surround luminance and the light time fraction for square-wave flicker. The prediction is fulfilled for surrounds of the same Talbot luminance as the target. For surrounds brighter than the target, the results are equivocal.
