Abstract

The work reported constitutes part of an investigation into the transmission characteristics of colored glass filters. Special attention is paid here to the determination of the absorption coefficient in the main transmission regions of Schott OG1, RG2, and RG8 filters, through the employment of substantial thicknesses of glass. This study embraces also an investigation of the temperature dependence of the absorption coefficients.
