A Kinematically Focused Concave-Grating Spectrometer

Not Accessible

Abstract

A description is given of a twenty-one foot concave-grating spectrometer which achieves the compactness of the Eagle arrangement and the convenience of being able to scan with automatic focusing. The principal feature consists of turntables which translate at appropriately different speeds and the connecting lever arms which rotate them in proper relation to the Rowland circle to maintain the focusing conditions. Photographic, photomultiplier, and photoconductor recording systems can be quickly interchanged.
