Abstract
A method is described for the determination of the small angle subtended by a distant object. Rays from the object are passed through a biprism, thus causing an interference pattern. If the object is considered as two separate sources, then by altering the position of the biprism the interference pattern caused by one of these sources may reinforce or blur the interference pattern caused by the other. A relation similar to that of a two-slit stellar interferometer has been derived and tested by experiment. Hence the angle subtended by the object can be evaluated.
