Comparison of observed and predicted interference patterns of U II spectrum line. Observed pattern corresponds to average fringe intensity of four central orders of the Fabry-Perot pattern; predicted patterns are based on assumed negligible splitting in the upper level and assumed line shape and choice of A/B consistent with the observed pattern. Individual fringe patterns show greater detail.
