Abstract

The reflectivities for evaporated metal films of Ni, Co, Fe, Mn, and Cd have been measured at five angles of incidence in the visible and near infra-red regions. From this data, the dielectric constant and conductivity of the metals were found by the method of J. R. Collins and R. O. Bock [ Rev. Sci. Inst. 14, 135 ( 1943)]. These data are shown graphically. A technique is described for obtaining smooth evaporated cadmium mirrors.
