Abstract

A photoelectric spectrophotometer for measuring reflectances and transmittances of polished specimens at various angles of incidence has been developed for use in the Schumann region. Such measurements of reflectance at two or more angles of incidence permit the calculation of the index of absorption and the index of refraction of materials opaque to light of these wave-lengths.
