Abstract
It is shown that Grüneisen’s criteria, for determining the velocity at which the value of pt for a given viscosimeter will exceed, by a given amount, its value at very low velocity, are incorrect. Other criteria, in accordance with the general experience of investigators and with Bond’s observations at very low velocities are derived. An error which vitiates many of the published tests of viscosimeters is pointed out.
