  6. In order to avoid confusion it is worthwhile to note that another distinctly different multichannel decoding scheme has recently been discussed. In this case the term channel refers to sidebands in the frequency plane rather than coded images. This method uses a transmission grating to redistribute the Fourier spectrum of the point-spread function into sideband "islands." This creates a deblurring filter with lower dynamic range requirements. See J. W. Goodman and H. B.
