Abstract

PT-symmetric optical systems have been widely researched in recent years and most of the researches are limited to weakly guiding condition. In this paper, we propose a method based on the conventional coupled mode theory (CMT) to describe PT-symmetric coupling systems regardless of the guiding conditions. With this method, we can examine the unique PT characteristics and design various PT optical structures.
