Abstract

In this paper, we propose a tunable all optical switch based on metamaterial structure enhanced with metal nanocomposite layer which has adjustable optical properties and strong nonlinear Kerr effect. The results demonstrate an ultrafast, low threshold and high extinction ratio all optical switch with tunable frequency operating in wide range of incident angle. We also design nanostructure based two channels modulator and multiplexer by using two adjacent Fano resonance peaks caused by metamaterial and plasmonic characteristics.
