Abstract

We demonstrate M-ary coherent optical code division multiplexing (OCDM) block-ciphering with XOR logic operation using a single multi-port optical en/decoder for secure point-to-point transmissions. 2.5 Gbit/s, 16-ary OCDM-based block-ciphering with on-line XOR and its 50 km-long fiber transmission with true clock data recovery (CDR) are experimentally demonstrated for the first time.
