Abstract
The propagation characteristics for a surface wave on a grounded finite height finite length electromagnetic crystal are analyzed by simulation. As seen in other electromagnetic crystals, there exists a region where propagation is attenuated rapidly over distance through the finite length crystal (or grating). Variations in the propagation characteristics are shown for varying height of the crystal as well as for varying volume fraction of the air slots making up the crystal.
