Abstract

Europium-doped ZrO2 phosphor was synthesized by the combustion synthesis method using urea as a fuel. The structural properties as well as the optical properties were investigated. The prepared nanoparticles of ZrO2 phosphor were characterized by X-ray diffraction technique for structural analysis and field emission gun scanning electron microscopy for morphological details. The optical behavior of the prepared phosphor was determined by photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra that were recorded at room temperature under 275 nm excitation for the samples annealed at different temperatures. The intense emission peaks was found in red region and small peaks at green region. The intensity of PL emission peaks increases with increasing annealing temperature.
