Abstract

This paper reports the synthesis, characterization and thermoluminescence properties of pure ${GdAlO}_{3}$ nanophosphors. The samples were prepared by solid-state reaction, a synthesis technique which is suitable for time large-scale production with uniform size for nano phosphors. The particle size of the prepared phosphor was calculated by XRD technique. The functional group analysis was determined by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic techniques. The surface morphology of prepared phosphor was determined by field emission gun scanning electron microscopy (FEGSEM) technique. The good connectivity with grains and the semi-sphere line structure was found by FEGSEM. The prepared phosphor examined by thermoluminescence technique and computerized deconvolution method used to obtain the deconvoluted curve. For recording TL glow curve every time 0.5 mg phosphor was irradiated by a UV 254-nm source. The effects of variable heating rate on thermoluminescence (TL) behavior of ${GdAlO}_{3}$ were studied. The various heating rate (3 $^{\circ} {C} \cdot{s} ^{-1}$ to 6 $^{\circ} {C}\cdot {s} ^{-1}$ ) shows shifting in TL glow peaks at higher temperature side with different shape. For optimized heating rate TL response for different UV exposure time were recorded and optimized it. Trapping parameters are calculated for every recorded glow curve.
