Feature Announcement for Biomedical Optics Express

Topics in Biomedical Optics from OSA's BIOMED 2014 Conference

Submission window: 1 May–15 June, 2014

This feature issue will highlight topics presented at the 2014 OSA Biomedical Optics Topical Meeting (BIOMED):

  • Biophysics, Biology and Biophotonics: the Crossroads
  • BioNanophotonic and Molecular Probes
  • Optical Microscopy: Techniques and Applications
  • Photoacoustic Imaging and Spectroscopy
  • Optical Coherence Tomography with Applications
  • Optical Imaging and Tomography with Applications
  • Optical Spectroscopy with Applications

The journal welcomes submissions to this Feature Issue from only the oral and poster papers accepted for the meeting. All papers need to present original, previously unpublished work, and will be subject to the normal standards and peer-review process of the journals. To be eligible for publication, the paper needs to add substantial and/or significant new information to the original conference summary. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts which make use of the special features of Biomedical Optics Express which are particularly germane to the biomedical content such as inclusion of color figures and movies.

Manuscripts must be prepared according to the usual standards for submission to Biomedical Optics Express and must be uploaded through OSA's electronic-submission system. When submitting, please specify that the manuscript is for the Topics in Biomedical Optics (TBO) feature issue. Regular publication charges will apply.
