Abstract
Conformation changes during the crystallization process of poly(ethylene-2,6-naphthalate), including the induction period, were investigated by means of generalized two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy. A broad carbonyl stretching vibration band, as well as a broad band for a naphthalene ring vibration, was resolved in terms of the coplanarity of the carbonyl and the naphthalene ring. A difference in conformation change was found between cold crystallization and melt crystallization.
