Abstract

An experiment was carried out to verify a previously described linear relationship between ln(fluorescent intensity ratio of analyte to pure analyte/concentration of analyte) and ln(fluorescent energy) or, mathematically, ln(<i>I</i><i>i</i>/<i>c</i><i>i</i><i>I</i><i>i</i>0 = <i>a</i> ln(<i>E</i><i>i</i>) + <i>b</i>. The best fit to our experimental data for elements from manganese to molybdenum for porcelain matrix is given by ln(<i>I</i><i>i</i>/<i>c</i><i>i</i><i>I</i><i>i</i>0 = 2.401 ln(<i>E</i><i>i</i>) - 8.701 with a value of the gradient in agreement with the theoretical prediction.
