Abstract
There is an increasing interest in the study of the lanthanoids' interactions in biogeochemical environ ment. Recently, studies have been done of the binding of rare earth elements (REE) with organic ligands to form compounds which, like metallothioneins, are of major importance in marine organisms. For these reasons, an accurate determination of these elements seems to be of great importance in the characterization of environmental samples such as rocks, minerals, sediments, waters, vegetables, and other biological organisms.
