Abstract

Processes involving the adsorption of organic compounds from solution are dependent upon parameters which include the chemical nature of the adsorbates and absorbents, the solvent system, the presence or absence of other species such as surfactants, and temperature. A comprehensive study of the adsorption of polymers onto the surface of gamma-iron oxide using gel permeation chromatography was published by Huisman et al. in 1986. They measured adsorption isotherms, solvent adsorption, polymer adsorption, and apparent polymer adsorption.
