Abstract

Criteria for evaluating the quality of digital infrared refrence spectra are presented and discussed. A three-digit quality index is proposed, with the first digit representing sample authenticity and purity, the second digit representing the quality of sample preparation, and the third digit representing the stringency of the instrumental conditions used during the measurement. An algorithm for calculating this quality index is proposed.
