Natural systems such as oil, rocks, seeds, etc., are porous materials with liquids filling them. The characterization of these and some other similar artificial systems includes estimates of the average size of the cavities in the material. As a model of this type of system, we have studied ground glass particles classified by different mesh, close packed in the presence of benzene. These particles are inert and impermeable, simplifying the analysis.
