Abstract

Polymer films are being used for photovoltaic solar energy conversion systems and also to protect mirror surfaces from exposure to environmental degradation (ultraviolet light, temperature, moisture, and atmospheric gases). Understanding of the photodegradation mechanisms of metal-backed films is of importance for their effective utilization in such applications.
