ICP Spectra: I. Background Emission

Abstract

The background spectra originating from an ICP excitation source using a standard set of conditions have been tabulated and classified from 2075 to 6005 Å. These data were acquired using a high-resolution, scanning echelle monochromator capability of 0.01 Å. Background features include 205 Ar transitions; atomic spectra from H, C, and Si; and molecular band emission from the OH species. Possible spectral interferences of analysis lines with this background spectra were discussed and tabulated for first through third order overlaps.
