Abstract
Several new solid electrolytes were synthesized from the reaction of substituted organic ammonium hydroiodides (pyridinium and quinolinium type) and varying quantities of silver iodide. The inductive effects of nucleophilic and electrophilic substitution on the pyridinium or quinolinium ring, as well as substituent position on the ionic conductivity, were determined. Pressure and thermal studies were undertaken to determine if new nonambient conductive phases existed.
