Abstract

The resolution matched throughput of a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer is τ = π/2 <i>D</i>2Δ<i>v</i>/<i>v</i>max (1) where <i>D</i> is the (unvignetted) beam diameter at the beamsplitter (fairly close to the interferometer mirror diameter), Δ<i>v</i> the resolution, and <i>v</i>max the maximum frequency.
