Abstract

Increases in the resolution and light throughput of a Raman spectrometer can be obtained by coupling it to a scanning Fabry-Perot interferometer. A relatively inexpensive accessory that will not interfere with the normal use of the spectrometer is described. A test run with naphthalene at 77°K showed errors in the current interpretation of the spectrum.
