Abstract

In many areas of scientific research, handling of large quantities of numerical experimental data is a frequent problem. One of the least expensive and simplest ways to produce such data in a digital form involves the use of paper tape punches. In the interpretation of paper tape data, however, one very often faces the problem that not all computing centers are equipped with on-line or off-line paper tape readers or that centrally managed interpreting units do not offer the convenience or the controlled safety which one would like to establish for his data analysis procedures.
