Abstract

The dc-arc excitation of aqueous hydrochloric acid solutions of various elements has been studied. Teflon cups of the Zink type were employed. By using the 3089-Å, line of the OH band or gallium as an internal standard, boron, mercury, tin, chromium, iron, aluminum, manganese, copper, and zinc in the part-pér-million range have been determined.
