Abstract

Carbon disulfide is an important impurity in benzene, in many cases (6) accounting for one-half the total sulfur content found. For samples containing 0.02% or more carbon disulfide, infrared spectrophotometry is a convenient method of analysis and has been applied to both carbon tetrachloride (10, 14) and benzene (8, 13) solutions.
