Abstract

Carbon disulfide is an important impurity in benzene, in many cases <i>(6)</i> accounting for one-half the total sulfur content found. For samples containing 0.02% or more carbon disulfide, infrared spectrophotometry is a convenient method of analysis and has been applied to both carbon tetrachloride <i>(10, 14)</i> and benzene <i>(8, 13)</i> solutions.
