The Infrared Spectra of Some 2-Benzofuranones

Abstract

In the course of a synthetic program, the infrared spectra of eleven 2-benzofuranones were obtained as a matter of routine to aid in the confirmation of structure. Because of the lack of infrared spectra of benzofuranones in the literature, it was decided to examine these curves more closely. The spectra of these compounds are presented in tabular form in Table I.
