Abstract
X-ray emission techniques have proven feasible for the analysis of thin films produced by the reaction of lubricating oil additives with metal parts. The method was found applicable to the determination of Zn, Ba, P, S, and Cl in the concentration range of zero to 75 μg/cm2. Standard films were prepared synthetically from standard solutions of the elements of interest.
