Abstract

The advisability of using temperature controlled photographic processing for spectrochemical emulsions has long been recognized as proper procedure. The commercial or professional photographer applies this concept of temperature controlled processing to include all rinses and washes of a negative or print, but the spectrochemist appears to feel that the temperature controlling of the developer and fixer is enough. The precision of certain of our work required us to apply the principle of complete temperature control to all the solutions, rinses, and washings in the development of our spectrochemical emulsions.
