Abstract

IR spectral data for polystyrene recorded at temperatures ranging from 30-210°C are reported. Certain IR band frequencies shift to lower frequency by as much as 4.5 cm−1 over the temperature range studied. In air, polystyrene oxidizes at 180°C.
