Abstract
In the qualitative infrared analysis of liquids and semi-liquids, this laboratory is frequently confronted with samples containing water, odoriferous materials, or highly viscous samples that would either be ruinous to standard liquid sample cells or cause costly or time-consuming cleaning and polishing operations. The use of cup-shaped KBr pellets for forming a cell that can be discarded after use provides a satisfactory solution to this problem.
