Applied Optics Feature Announcement

Digital Holography and 3-D Imaging

Submission Deadline: 30 April 2014

This feature issue of Applied Optics is a continuation of a tradition, since 2007, to highlight current topics in digital holography and three-dimensional imaging. This issue will highlight the proceedings of the Optical Information Processing and Holography subconference of OPTIC 2013 (Optics & Photonics Taiwan, International Conference), held in the National Central University, Chungli, Taiwan, 5–7 December 2013. The international forum attracted more than 1,000 contributed papers and 2,000 participants from around the globe. The feature issue will significantly enhance communcation and collaboration among the global research community. The feature issue calls for papers in line with the topics of the conference OPTIC, but open to all new research results in digital holography and 3D imaging.

All papers need to present original, previously unpublished work, and will be subject to the normal standards and peer-review process of the journals. To be eligible for publication, the paper needs to add substantial and/or significant new information to the original conference summary.

Topics will be considered in all areas of digital holography, 3D imaging, and optical information processing, including:
  • Novel holographic techniques
  • 3D imaging and display systems
  • Computer generated holograms
  • Digital holographic microscopy
  • Digital holographic optical processing
  • Biomedical applications
  • Metrology and profilometry
  • Novel applications of digital holography
  • Optical information processing

Manuscripts must be prepared according to the standard guidelines for Applied Optics and uploaded through OSA's electronic submission system. Please specify that the manuscript is for the Digital Holography and 3D Imaging feature issue and submit to the Information Processing Division. All papers, contributed or invited, will undergo peer review according to the Applied Optics guidelines. Research and review papers will be invited from leaders in the topic areas.
