Experimental apparatus and arrangement: klystron delivers approximately 1 W cw at 7 GHz; line represents either a wire above ground plane, or a two-wire lecher line; lines are matched at input end and open circuited at load end; biasing lamp provides light for viewing and raises overall temperature of detector to slightly less than 33°C.
