Abstract

The motivation, initiation, and history of Project AMOS are briefly described. From the description of the telescopes and the representative sample of seeing data, an estimate can be made of the observatory's potentialities to conduct an ir astronomy program. Finally, the writer defines, in broad terms, a possible program in ir astronomy.
