Abstract

We present a numerical analysis that indicates that a 3 × 3 nonplanar fused-fiber coupler can be used to inhibit longitudinal mode hops in a narrow linewidth unidirectional ring fiber laser. We also give preliminary experimental data that support our numerical analysis.
