Abstract

We present a novel real-time hologram-recording method and derive a formula for calculating the diffraction efficiency of gratings recorded in phase-change media. The formula gives media parameters for high diffraction efficiency. In addition, a two-dimensional character pattern is successfully reconstructed by using a GeTe alloy film.
