Not Accessible

Your library or personal account may give you access

Abstract

An elementary proof is presented of the existence of a spectral filter which maximizes the signal-to-noise ratio of a detector. It is shown that an optimal filter can be obtained which is transparent or opaque at each frequency. An algorithm is given which determines the regions of transparency.
