Abstract

Before the merger of RCA and General Electric, RCA provided 90% of the Sarnoff Research Center’s budget. In 1986, GE gave the Center to SRI International, a consulting organization. Sarnoff is weaning itself from GE financing, and in this reprint from The New York Times of 30 April 1989, life after RCA is discussed.
