Ultralightweight reflector for lidar applications

Not Accessible

Abstract

An ultralightweight, approximately parabolic reflector is described. A pressure difference across the upper and lower surfaces of a thin reflecting film is utilized to make the film surface concave. Experimental results showed that the resulting near parabolic reflector can be used for lidar applications. Using the device, the feasibility of lidar measurement from space is discussed.
