Abstract

An optical bench has been constructed specifically for the evaluation of image quality in aerial survey cameras of up to 23- × 23-cm format and focal lengths to 310 mm. It is able to study the full field of super-wide-angle cameras without auxiliary arrangements. Line spread functions are measured directly, recorded digitally, and converted to OTF by computation. Design considerations are given, system components described, and first results presented.
