Abstract

The recent Topical Meeting on Optical Data Storage (held 18–20 Apr. 1984, in Monterey, Calif.) included 44 technical papers and was attended by 318 people. The conference marked the first announcements of commercial optical digital storage products and technical advances which are likely to affect subsequent generations of products. This issue features eleven papers presented at the meeting.
